high on FEATHER STRAP HEELS

DIY_OscarDeLaRenta_Inspired_Feather_Heels_Sandals_BeforeAfterDIY_OscarDeLaRenta_Inspired_Feather_Heels_Sandals_StepsStep 1: Cut out two rectangular pieces from the card stock paper with length that’s same as the length of the sandal strap across the sandal and with width that’s 1 cm longer than the width of the ankle strap. Taking the embroidery floss in two colors, wrap it around line by line around the rectangular paper. Once the whole rectangular piece of paper is covered with floss, cut off the excess floss.
Step 2: Apply fabric glue in a straight line along the middle (length-wise) on one side of the wrapped floss.
Step 3: Cut off some more floss in two colors that is twice the length of the rectangular paper and a centimeter extra. Folding it in half, place it over the straight line glue from Step 2. Lightly press the four strands of floss into the glue and let it dry. Repeat Steps 2 & 3 on the other side of the wrapped floss. Let all the glue dry completely.
Step 4: Taking the second piece of rectangular paper from Step 1, draw and cutout a feather shape. Only cut off small bits from the sides to give it a feather shape and do not alter the length of the paper piece. Place the feather template over the wrapped floss with glue from Step 3. Cutout that wrapped floss in a feather shape using the paper feather template.
Step 5: You will end up with two pieces of floss feathers with the rectangular paper we wrapped the floss around sandwiched in between the two. Remove the paper and on each of the floss feathers, place glue in a straight line on the side where we did not place the straight line floss in Step 3.
Step 6: With the glue facing the sandal strap, arrange the floss feather over the sandal straps and let them dry completely. Make any adjustments to create a more feathery look with the scissors.

There you have your feather strap heel sandals! You can add more feathers to the ankle strap as well, similar to the inspiration heels from Oscar de la Renta. I wanted to keep mine more minimal so I did not add more to my pair. I also kept the floss color close to the color of my heels. You can play around and make it more fun by color blocking or by using contrasting colors. You can also buy ready-made leather, suede or metallic feathers from Etsy and just attach them to your heels or flat sandals. Have fun and stay HIGH on DIY!
What you’ll need:

CASUAL LITTLE COLOURFUL DRESS WITH DOVE INVISIBLE DRY

Dove Invisible Dry #LittleColourfulDress

Orange is probably my favourite colour and I find it incredibly easy to wear for some reason, I just gravitate to it! ThisWarehouse dress is technically a beach cover up, but it's far too cute to be thrown on over a bikini 2 weeks a year and then shelved. It's perfect for these hot summer days as it's bright and breezy, with just the right amount of boho styling to play with. I've teamed it with my fringed suede ankle boots (also from Warehouse), a cute Johnny Loves Rosie headband and some trusty Mi Moneda (OBVIO), and I'm feeling spicy!

his is the sort of thing I'd wear to go shopping, or to meet friends for a catch up in town or the park. It's a fairly simple outfit with only a few components, but the bright colour and flattering cut of the dress makes me feel fab. Combine this with the personal confidence supplied by the top notch Dove Invisible Dry deodorant and I'm set for whatever the day may bring!

As we've mentioned in our previous posts in this series, Dove want more women to feel colour confident and have teamed with some experts Alex Longmore and Natalie Thomas to help encourage the nation! The Dove Invisible Dry anti-perspirant has been tested on a whopping 100 colours, so you don't need to worry about those pesky deodorant marks. I certainly didn't notice any shifty white streaks on this gorgeous blue colour. That would be tres unprofessional at work!

So does wearing colour at work give me a boost? Yeah I think so, I think that you put out an air of confidence for sure. More people give you a second glance just because of what you're wearing, so in turn you'd have to be self-confident to deal with the extra attention! I do think it happens to men in the office too though. We have a colleague who loves to rock a certain pink and lavender shirt/tie combo and tbh, we adore him for it and he laps up the attention, which in turn seems to give him a little confidence boost ;) I think wearing more colour definitely has a positive effect on corporate life! Imagine working at Google, no wonder those people are all super happy.

THE LITTLE COLOURFUL DRESS

I absolutely love wearing colourful dresses! When it comes to style, I'm all about statement pieces and when I wear a bold frock, I feel more confident.
Dove Invisible Dry LCD

Dove recently launched a new Invisible Dry Anti-Perspirant range proven to leave no white marks on 100 different colours, and to celebrate this launch we've been asked to take part in their LCD (Little Colourful Dress) campaign! As mentioned inJade's post yesterday, a recent Dove Colour Confidence Poll revealed a massive 63% of British women would opt for an LBD over a LCD. In order to encourage more women to embrace colour and ditch the black, Dove have teamed up with fashion stylist Alex Longmore who has some great tips on wearing colour!

Dove Little Colourful Dress
Alex believes wearing black clothing can make our complexion look dull and wants us to be brave when it comes to wearing colour and just go for it! Opting for brights can make you feel more confident and colourful dresses work well for both special occasions and general everyday wear

I don't really need much encouragement when it comes to wearing bright shades but I spotted this lemon lace shift dress from Oasis and knew I needed it in my summer wardrobe! It's currently on sale and is an absolute bargain - it's the type of dress I'd wear to either a wedding, or on date night.
