With the shock of discovering that you need bifocals or that your eyes have weakened over the past year. Comes the need to sort through a huge array of eyeglasses frames to find a shape that works with your hair, the shape of your face and your personality.

There is completely no doubt, that eyeglasses should complement, but not compete with your hairstyle; be sure not to get carried away with a fussy frame if you favor big hair.

The most suitable frame shape is the opposite of your face shape. Angular-shaped faces look better with rounder frames. Softer, fuller faces are enhanced with sharper-edged frame shapes.

The main consideration is balancing the volume and shape of your eyeglasses with your hairstyles. Identify the strongest elements of your hairstyle and then choose a frame that matches.

Combine Classics
A classic hairstyle is one, that need minimal styling and is, one length over all the head, is best suited to frame shapes that have also stood the test of time. Simple round or square eyeglasses are good options.

Measure the Extreme
A strong trendy style, demands eyeglasses that can hold their own. For example, bangs that are little more than a high fringe require eyeglasses with, strong lines. Ovals squares with triangular edges, the ones you might have worn as a kid, work wonders.

Silver, gold, grey, tortoiseshell, etc. Some may like funky colour combinations - try them on and see how they suit. Opt for one that enhances skin tone and hair shade.

Wide eyes in a few simple steps

1. Use shade (1) all over the upper lid with the foam applicator.

2. Apply the lightest shade (2) with the flexible spatula to illuminate the centre of the eyebrow arch, giving your eyes a fresh, softly playful expression.

3. Redefine the eye contour with the dark shade (3) using the edge of the flocked applicator. Enhance this line in the middle of the lid, going beyond the lash line. For a more defined effect, moisten the applicator first.
You can achieve a third level of intensity with Khôl Hypnôse Waterproof pencil in plum applied all the way along the lash line. Don’t forget the power of contrast: the darker the eyeline, the brighter the eye.

4. Use a demi-tone shade (4) to sculpt the upper lid fold, shading up towards the lower part of the eyebrow arch with the brush. Blending upwards using colour will make your eyes appear more open.

5. Add a touch of light to the inner corner (which tends to be in shadow) by applying the pale shade (5) with the tip of the foam applicator.

6. Your mascara’s role is to extend your lashes upwards in a symmetrical fan shape. Use Hypnôse Doll Eyes to lengthen, thicken and separate lashes with two brand new risqué shades: “So Brown!” and “So Ruby!”

Sophisticated eyes in a few simple steps

1. Use the foam applicator to adorn the upper lid with a radiant shade (1). Intensify this radiance on the outer part of the lid and finish in a point to stretch out the eye.

2. Illuminate the centre of the eyebrow arch and up to the brow using shade (2) on the flat surface of the flexible spatula. This delicate applicator takes up just the right amount for the most uniform application possible: illuminated, the eyebrow arch extends the eye outward.

3. Working with the edge of the spatula, apply the eyeliner shade (3) along the upper and lower lash lines, broadening the line as you move outwards. The eye contour itself works to stretch the eye shape outwards.

As well as letting you experiment with intensity using dry or wet application, the brown or black Khôl Hypnôse Waterproof pencil gives depth to the eye when applied to the inner edge of the lid before going over it with the dry eyeliner shade.

4. Situated between the arch and the lid, the crease is opened up and extended out by using a demi-tone shade (4). Shade the outer corner, blending colour towards the eyebrow arch using the brush. This light application allows you to blend the darker shade with the colours on the arch and lid, again elongating the natural shape of the eye contour.

5. For an incredibly feline look, lengthen out the eyebrow by not following the rounded part of its curve all the way. Stretched out towards the temple, it offers the eye an illusion of width.

6. Lashes are naturally thicker towards the outer part of the eye. Use Hypnôse Starmascara to amplify their curl and volume, loading extra product onto the outer lashes. Adorned with Waterproof “Sparkling Brown” or “Noir Midnight”, eyes take on that desirable extended shape.

The must-have finishing touch: Crayon Miracle

Crayon Miracle is applied to the lower lid edge, just a few millimetres from the inner corner to add illumination and intensify the contrast between the two lids. Eyes are stretched out, their form elongated. Signs of fatigue disappear in a flash.

Spectacular eyes in a few simple steps

1. Begin with a generous application of the main shade (1) over the upper lid using the foam applicator.

2. Use the middle shade (2) to adorn the eyebrow arch, working from the crease to the brow to emphasise the upper part of the eye and enhance its depth.

3. Intensify this depth by boldly darkening the eye contour with the eyeliner shade (3). Do not be afraid to broaden the lash line using the edge of the spatula, especially towards the outside of the eye.
Create maximum intensity using the green or navy Khôl pencil: its generously soft texture adorns eyes with a dark, captivating aura.

4. Load a brush with the main shade (4) and shade in the palpebral fold. Work along the lower part of the eyebrow arch, elongating the crease of the eye outwards. Use the brush to blend out defined areas, helping to create a seamless graduated effect, infinitely framing around the eye...

5. Add a final touch of radiance to the upper inner corner using the lightest shade (5). With its cushiony yet precise tip, the foam applicator creates a concentrate of pure light at the heart of the eye.

6. To create volume worthy of this show-stopping design, apply at least two coats of Hypnôse Drama mascara to magnify your lashes’ volume and create spectacular curl... The last word in refinement, it is available in two brand new shades, “Excessive Blue” or “Excessive Grey”.
